Meg Webster Thicket Opens in New York

Meg Webster Thicket opens at Paula Cooper Gallery in New York, presenting a new exhibition of sculptures, drawings, and a plant-based installation made from natural materials.

The exhibition features new sculptures, drawings, and an installation made from natural materials. At the center of the show is Thicket, a spiral structure formed from plant cuttings, branches, leaves, berries, and flowering buds.

Visitors can enter the work, turning the sculpture into an immersive space shaped by nature. Webster uses organic material not as decoration, but as the main body of the artwork.

Since the 1980s, Webster has explored soil, moss, branches, wax, salt, and other natural elements. Her work connects Minimalism, Land Art, ecology, and physical experience.

The exhibition also includes new works on paper made with organic substances such as spices, powdered vegetables, and flowers, along with a three-part beeswax relief.

Thicket follows Webster’s recent presentation at Dia Beacon and her inclusion in Minimal at Bourse de Commerce – Pinault Collection in Paris.
