The Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF) 2025, taking place from September 24–28, 2025, is now open for film submissions. This prestigious festival invites animators worldwide to showcase their creativity in its competitive programs.
Eligible entries include short and feature-length animated films completed after May 31, 2024. OIAF 2025 will present 17 unique awards across four main competition categories, celebrating diverse storytelling and artistic innovation.

- Student Animation
- Commissioned Films
- Animation for Young Audiences (Ages 7–12)
- Animation for Teen Audiences (Ages 13–18)
- Animated Series
OIAF welcomes submissions from all corners of the globe. Works must be original, showcasing human creativity and involvement (non-algorithmic). While AI-assisted creations are not excluded, submissions should clearly reflect the artist’s personal touch.
Language Requirements: The festival’s official languages are English and French. Films with non-English dialogue must include English subtitles.
Artist Support: Independent, non-commissioned films selected for OIAF 2025 will receive artist fees, recognizing the value of creative work.
