Designers, illustrators, and visual artists from around the world are invited to take part in the MakeDox 2025 Poster Design Competition, an open call to shape the visual identity of the 16th edition of the MakeDox Creative Documentary Film Festival.
This year’s festival theme is: Who Cares About Reality?
In an age where truth is fluid and images often blur the line between fiction and fact, this theme challenges artists to think deeply, critically, and creatively. The selected poster will become the visual cornerstone of MakeDox 2025 and will appear across promotional materials, digital platforms, and printed festival media.
What We’re Looking For:
- A visually compelling poster concept that reflects this year’s theme while staying true to the unique and recognizable spirit of MakeDox.
- Bold, original design with a strong narrative connection to the world of creative documentary film.
- Visual continuity with past editions, yet infused with fresh artistic energy.
Submission Guidelines:
Participants must submit:
- Two poster proposals (JPG or PDF format)
- A brief concept statement (max 300 words) describing your ideas and approach
- A short biography and portfolio (website or PDF)
Selected designer(s) will:
- Receive a design fee
- Be officially credited in all MakeDox 2025 materials
- Be commissioned to finalize the main poster, adapt it for social media, and design five double-page spreads for the festival catalogue
Who Can Apply?
This is an open international call. Individual designers and creative teams from all countries and backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
